Essar-A brief introduction about Essar and its placement procedure



Essar Company Overview
Essar Group is an Indian MNC with money invested in the sectors of steel, energy, infrastructure (ports, projects & concessions) and services (shipping, telecom, realty and outsourcing and technology solutions). With operations in more than 25 countries across five continents, Essar employs over 73,000 people and has revenues of $39 billion.
Essar began as a construction company in 1969 and diversified into manufacturing, services and retail. Essar is managed by Shashi Ruia – Chairman, and Ravi Ruia – Vice Chairman.

Academic Criteria:
·  6+ CGPA is a must to appear for the Exam

A total of 4– 6 Rounds depending on the region, profile and selection board are conducted.

Online Test and technical Aptitude
The aptitude test consists of 3 sections “Verbal reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning comprising of 120 questions in 40 questions from each section.
The technical aptitude questions are given to the students who cleared Aptitude test and it contains 50 questions.

Topics can be on very general lines. Topics are quite different from software interviews. The candidate only need to speak out for about 2 or 3 times fluently and it will be enough. A large amount of shortlisting is done at this stage.
Technical Interview + HR Interview:
The interview is mainly technical with most of the questions based on the candidates subject knowledge. It must be noted that the dress code must be maintained for interview process, also the candidate must be confident while answering the Questions even if the answers are wrong. Also keeping a pleasant smile in your face can help. A total of 15 min is how long the interview will last.
