SNAP  Analysis

1. General English - 40 Marks

Typical verbal ability - Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Grammar and Vocabulary. A decent attempt here would be around 28 Questions. This section generally comes easy.

2. General Awareness - 40 Marks

As usual, the SNAP GK part featured a mix of items like Indian Constitution, Polity, Economy , Basic, Everyday Science , Prizes, Books , Mergers and Acquisitions , Auto Industry , Sports , Geography, History , Political developments, elections etc.. Considering the difficulty level, a decent score here would be around 25-30 questions.

3. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation - 40 Marks

The SNAP quantitative ability had popular concepts like profit-loss, number system, simple-compound interest, basic geometry etc. A decent score in this part would be around 30-35.  .

Sequences , Coding-Decoding , Verbal Analogies, Venn Diagrams , Blood Relations, Cubes, Fact-Inference-Judgment , Number series etc

4. Logical Reasoning - 60 Marks

The Logical Reasoning part consisted of coding decoding, Venn diagrams, Blood relations, cubes, fact inference judgment, and Number series.  Generally, a score of 30-35  here would though to be decent.

The 120- minute SNAP had a negative marking @.25 for each incorrect attempt. At a composite level, the SNAP 2014 test could be termed as easy to moderate in terms of difficulty.

Written Test

1st test was an aptitude test. In this test you have to do 40 questions in 50 minutes. Question were in set of five. There were 4 sets of logical reasoning questions and 4 sets of Data Interpretation questions, thus 40 questions in total. Some of these questions were time consuming so you need to skip and skim the questions to manage time well.

2nd test was a technical test. In this test you have to do 30 questions in 20 minutes. Majority of questions were based on object oriented programming (C++) and there were few question on Data Structures and C.

Group Discussion

Candidates who have cleared the written test will be shortlisted for group discussion as well as personal interview. Candidate’s communication skill and awareness in general knowledge will be measured in group discussion. 

Technical Interview and HR Interview

1st round was a technical interview round. In this interview candidates were asked questions like What is a linked list and how will you reverse it; question related to various topics like ,Tree, Function Pointer, Polish Notation , Run time polymorphism were also asked. You need to strong in subjects like Data Structures to clear this round.

2nd round was a HR interview round. Common questions were asked, examples are, why you want to join SEL, What are your strengths and weakness etc. This round was just for formality.

Online Aptitude Test

The written test contains questions from topics such as Computer Science Knowledge, Data Structures, OS Concepts, Verbal Ability, Reasoning and General English. There will be 30 questions from Computer Science which needs to be finished in 30 minutes. Twenty five questions will be asked from General English. Maximum time allotted for this section is 25 minutes. Reasoning section will contain 35 questions which have to be completed in 35 minutes.

Group Discussion

Candidates who have cleared the written test will be shortlisted for group discussion as well as personal interview. Candidate’s communication skill and awareness in general knowledge will be measured in group discussion. 

Technical Interview and HR Interview

In technical interview, candidates can expect questions from the his area of specialization. Candidates should have a thorough knowledge in their core subject to clear the technical round successfully. Technical Interview and HR Interview

Final round of selection process is Technical and HR interview. Career prospects, questions related to project, etc. are asked for the section. Selected candidates in the section will be given with the offer letter. In the final HR round the interviewer may ask the student about the company, what are the goals and weakness of the student? HR may ask one or more Puzzles. The student should first introduce himself/ herself to the interviewer. The HR would evaluate the student’s confidence, creativity, problem solving abilities and ability to work as a team.
