Test
The 120 minute-long IBM selection
test features 90 questions - 25 questions on Verbal Ability, 35 questions on
Aptitude Ability & Logical Ability and 30 questions on Technical Knowledge. Each part of the test has its own time limit and no going forward or
back is allowed.
The part on Verbal Ability
contains reading comprehension passages, fill in the blanks, synonyms,
antonyms, paragraph completion, grammatical errors, sentence ordering etc. The
time allowed for this part is 25 minutes.
The Quantitative Ability &
Logical Ability part features topics like algebra, time and work, arithmetic,
percentages, probability, permutation & combination, profit and loss etc.
The difficulty level here is moderate. One needs to work fast as this part has
to be finished in 35 minutes only.
The IBM test Technical Par
focuses on Data structures, OS concepts, DBMS & CODD fundamentals, Big O
notations, etc. This part requires thorough preparation and conceptual clarity.
The time allowed here is half an hour.
The test levies a negative
marking @ 0.25 for each wrong attempt. Therefore, one needs to be careful while
making guesses here.
