Cognizant Selection Process And Test Pattern

Cognizant is an American multinational company active in custom information technology, consulting and business process outsourcing services. It has its headquarters in Teaneck, New Jersey. Founded in 1994 by Kumar Mahadeva and Francisco Dsouza, Cognizant has carved a special niche on the IT landscape. It has got very progressive and liberal human resources practices, which are designed to attract and retain top-notch technical talent with cutting-edge management practices. Over the years, it has become a preferred employer for fresh technical graduates and has been voted as among the best employers six times by Fortune. Cognizant is part of the NASDAQ-100 and the S&P 500 indices.

The company selects new technical staff for induction by a selection process consisting of 3 rounds - Aptitude Test, HR Interview, and Technical Interview. To be eligible, a candidate must have a minimum of first class marks (60%) in Class X, XII and B. Tech examinations.  No academic backlogs during the academic career are permissible. Besides, the academic gap/s should not exceed 1 year.

The Cognizant Placement Papers contain 55 questions in all – 30 questions on Analytical Ability and 25 questions on Verbal Ability. The Cognizant Written Test is timed for 40 minutes and applies negative marking for wrong answers. Therefore, it’s better not to guess randomly during the test. You should stick to those questions about which you are confident as wild guessing can harm your score.
Those who qualify in the written test are eligible to sit in the next round, which consists of Technical and HR Interviews.
