SAIL Company Overview and Selection Process

SAIL owns integrated steel plants at Rourkela, Bhilai, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur .SAIL was seeded by Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL) which was set up on 19 January 1954.
SAIL is one of the largest Steel manufacturers in the world and the largest in India competing with TATA Steel, Essar Steel Ltd., JSW Steel.
The Ministry of Steel and Mines drafted a policy to evolve a new model for managing the mining industry. The policy was presented to the Parliament on whose basis the concept of creating a holding company to manage inputs and outputs under one umbrella was mooted. This led to the formation of Steel Authority of India Ltd. The company, incorporated on 24 January 1973 with an authorized capital of 2000 crore US $310 million.
Selection Process : 
The selection process consists of three rounds:
Written test
Group Discussion
Personal Interview
Written Test:
It has two sections, one is Quant and the other is Data Interpretation. +
Group Discussion:
It has three parts, Discussion on a topic, Prioritizing a group of events, Decision making all followed by discussion.
Personal Interview:
Questions on extra co-curricular activities, projects and previous companies.
