Syntel-A brief about the company and its placement procedure



Syntel, Inc. is a U.S. based provider of integrated Information technology and business services. Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Syntel provides services to its clients across 17 global development centers in India and the United States of America.

Academic Criteria:
*      The Criteria to appear for Syntel Placement test is a minimum CG PA of 6 at the time of test

Online Aptitude Test
This test consist of 60 questions and the duration of the test is 80 minutes. All questions carry equal weight age and there is a negative marking of (1/3) for wrong attempts. Almost all the 60 questions are from Quantitative Aptitude and Critical Reasoning. Topics covered in the Aptitude test may include the following
·         Time and Distance.
·         Number system.
·         Permutations and Combinations.
·         Probability.
·         Venn Diagrams.
·         Percentages, Profit and Loss.
·         Time and Work.
·         Averages.
·         Geometry and Mensuration.

Technical Interview
 In technical interview, candidates can expect questions from the area of specialization that is his/her branch of engineering even though it may not be remotely related to the work at Syntel. Also the candidate must be prepared with their Resume and the extracurricular that that the candidate has mentioned in it.

HR Interview
The questions asked are very general and are usually about the candidate, his/her family background and interests, other extracurricular done during his graduation period.
There may be some management related questions too, so have a strategy ready.
